I've had a relationship with Castle for years. I am generally happy with the security of the facility and while access hours could be better, I acknowledge that the trade off between security and access is worth it. The people are always friendly and helpful...when I can talk to them. Therein lies the problem. Recently, Caste implemented a telephone system that intercepts calls before ringing through to the desk. If the staff are not there, a customer can be on hold forever. A part of this system is a touch-tone payment system that makes paying the bill laborious, to say the least. I get that having the automation in place helps Castle keep costs down, not that I see that in my rental fee, but it also reduces the customer experience that I feel I deserve. And if they were going to automate, they should have paid the extra for the voice-recognition system!
Location was clean and unit was priced right for the area. I had an indoor climate controlled unit. It was always a great temperature in comparison to outdoors. I appreciate the multiple security features. They had cameras everywhere, so I never felt like someone would rob me or steal my stuff. The staff was nice and helpful.
If I could rate 0 stars I would,becuase i Rented a Uhaul truck from them for 1 day ,used it to move my things from storage to storage less than 10 miles and they charged me a $25 cleaning fee (i removed everything from the truck all there was left was some dust ,Really?? $25 for dust ??)and $7 for a handtruck that I never requested and didn't used.Total $80 . DON'T RENT TRUCKS FROM CASTLE SELF STORAGE, THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF WITH NONSENSE FEES...
Beautfiul facility, awesome customer service but they wil cheatyou out of money. Dropped truck off after closing and gas gage read a little above 3/4 of a tank. Got billed for $43!!!!! because they said that it was below 3/4 of a tank. Believe that because my bill was below $80 for a local move they were trying hit me up for more money by falsely charging me for gas. Good luck using them though.
